FWIW, not the same application as yours, but in situations such as you've described (where a modal dialog is hidden behind other windows - seemingly locking up the system) I can find the window among the buttons on my active buttons bars (which -- at least on XP) is shown when I bump the top of the screen. Clicking the active button puts the dialog on top where I can see it and deal with it. Regards, Sheri
