Hi,

I've been fighting for a few days to make tray aware a rather old app
without native tray support. I encountered a bunch of issues. I'd
probably post about them when I surrender with everyone of them.

So far, I made it minimize to the tray when minimized and closed. This
was just a matter of a couple of entries in the Key/Mouse tab and I'm
delighted with it.

I am however struggling with the window state at program launch. There
is a combo box in the command edition dialog in PP (the one entitled
"Edit list item") which theoretically allows the user to set the program
state when the app is launched. There you can set it to be "normal",
"minimized", "maximized", "hidden" and "tray minned", much like you can
do with the regular Windows shortcuts.

Fact is that the programs *always* launch like no option was set in such
combo box, no matter what you have selected in there. I think that such
behavior is not expected and that maybe this is a bug in PP. I've been
using PP for years, but can't remember if this switch ever worked. Maybe
it is in progress, is known to be non working or whatever.

I know that I can make the app launch tray minned using the autorun list,
but in such case the launched window flash briefly in the screen prior
to be hidden, tray minned or whatever, which is ugly. I wonder if this
non working at-launch-status is more straightforward method of dealing
with the window state at launch.

BTW, the app I'm fighting with is called TakeNote and can be found at
http://users.forthnet.gr/pat/efotinis/programs/takenote.html. Not
updated since 2003 (hence the lack of tray support, I guess).

Best regards.
