He was the rare case of a brilliant scientists with bags of charisma who 
actually liked both lecturing and students.

Yeah, I qualify for the UK Winter Fuel Allowance, not the mention free bus pass 
and 10% off at the local organic food shop.  So it's not all doom.  Yet.
