My wrists are very sensitive to poor ergonomic conditions when dealing with computers...and as a result I highly recommend: - Thumb-based mouse (logitech Trackman marble being my favorite) - Keyboard type and position. I use a Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro (the old style) that is split. With those two things, I make sure that I'm in a proper ergonomic position (have a desk/chair/keyboard stand) combination that both wrists are in a straight (both up/down and side/side) position. For me on my main system if I have that I don't have any carpel tunnel symptoms. If I work on any other system for more than 2-3 hours consecutively I start getting forearm ache and have to switch back to my primary system. The trickiest part of this whole setup is getting the right desk/chair combo so your wrists are in the right position in relation to the keyboard.
