Hello!

Some days ago I heard about this project and tried to optimize my laptop with
respect to its power consumption.
I used the hints from the homepage regarding intel915, dhcdbd, etc.
One thing I noticed is a fair amount of wakeups caused by kded which manages
the KDE services. Killing it solves the problem. ;)

My current result has no real high peak but a very wide base field. ;) Do you
have any hints about further optimization?

Greetings, Johannes

    PowerTOP version 1.3 (C) 2007 Intel Corporation

Cn Avg residency (20s) Long term residency avg
C0 (cpu running) ( 0.0%)
C1 0.0ms ( 0.0%) 0.0ms
C2 10.8ms ( 0.5%) 2.1ms
C3 32.7ms (99.8%) 7.1ms

Wakeups-from-idle per second : 62.1

Top causes for wakeups:
  22.4% ( 5.4) <interrupt> : eth0
  16.6% ( 4.0) modprobe : usb_hcd_poll_rh_status (rh_timer_func)
  12.4% ( 3.0) powersaved : queue_delayed_work_on (delayed_work_timer_
   4.8% ( 1.1) Xorg : do_setitimer (it_real_fn)
   4.6% ( 1.1) <interrupt> : libata

if you still have hal running to poll your cdrom drive.. that's one you can disable.

But your C-state data looks quite good already; I'm not sure you'll save really significant amounts of power going forward
