I often have a large number of unexplained wakeups. Once it reached 47k, so stopped all programs I could think of, unloaded modules, and from the console I still had >40k, with the top causes only explaining responsibility for a few dozen. The normal top program said 100% idle.
I would like to get to the bottom of it, as it might explain why the power usage was high for the laptop (15W) -- normally I have it at around 10W, whereas MS Windows manages 7W or less. I tried loading and unloading the thinkpad-acpi module to no avail. A reboot fixed it. Before using powertop I had observed inexplicably high power consumption before, but put it down to other components than the CPU. Any help much appreciated.
