hints are cycled... but hints have different priorities...
Also, I wonder if it would be desirable to keep a preferences file, to
store settings for suppressing certain hints (of course with an option
to reset to no suppression), such that one can disable the showing of
hints that are known to have an adverse effect on overall performance.
yes this is on my list; it's not entirely trivial to implement or it'd
be there already ;)
