My machine is a Turion notebook based on VIA vt8237 chipset. Using a 2.6.22 based distro kernel patched with -hrt6, Powertop 1.7 shows:
Häufigste Ursachen für das Aufwachen: 19,1% ( 5,0) dhcdbd : schedule_timeout (process_timeout) 13,4% ( 3,5) Xorg : do_setitimer (it_real_fn) 9,5% ( 2,5) gnome-power-man : schedule_timeout (process_timeout) 7,6% ( 2,0) nm-applet : schedule_timeout (process_timeout) 6,9% ( 1,8) gnome-terminal : schedule_timeout (process_timeout) 5,3% ( 1,4) <interrupt> : acpi This looks ok so far. BUT Wakeups per second is about 170! And this is without all unneeded modules (wlan etc). A cat /proc/timer_stats gives me some showstoppers: Sample period: 9.724 s 90, 0 swapper tick_nohz_restart_sched_tick (tick_sched_timer) 585, 0 swapper tick_nohz_stop_sched_tick (tick_sched_timer) HPET on this vt8237 is enabled and running. _______________________________________________ Power mailing list [email protected] http://www.bughost.org/mailman/listinfo/power
