Indeed it will, but then it needs to be done after each restart, which I hope you will agree is a Bad Plan (tm). Wrt. to the other post about any knowing linux user being able to follow the instructions, I offer the following thought: If it's a large school, one would expect a knowledgeable sysadmin, who would understand the "lingo", but for smaller schools, this assumption may not hold. The role of sysadmin may very well be held by the teacher least frightened by technology, who may, however, not have any real experience. It would lead too far to incorporate this into the program itself, but a few "tip application for dummies" pages on the homepage wouldn't hurt...
