Hi I'm happily running a 2.6.22 kernel to which I applied the HPET patch and the Josh Triplett port of the Arjan's one (the one found in powertop's "tips & tricks" section). This last one allegedly "changes a few background timers in the Linux kernel".
I'm confused as to what to do now to upgrade the kernel and keep (or improve) these goodies. HPET has been merged in 2.6.24, I believe; what about the second patch? It's a bit ethereal what it does. What's the strategy now, take 2.6.24 and see if said patch applies cleanly? Are some features now segregated in smaller patches, like the cpu-iddle one? If someone could clarify it would be very useful. Thanks Jose _______________________________________________ Power mailing list [email protected] http://www.bughost.org/mailman/listinfo/power
