The QuodLibet audio player indirectly causes the sound card to wake up 46,9 times a second as reported by PowerTop 1.9:
6,1% ( 46,9) <interrupt> : ATI IXP Modem, ATI IXP, [EMAIL PROTECTED]:0000:01:05.0 These appear as soon as QuodLibet is made to play the first song. Pausing or stopping the audio playback doesn't cause this number to vary (either up or down). The only way to stop it is by closing the application. The version of GStreamer used by QL is Debian's 0.10.15-3. The main issue is that this interrupt is preventing the laptop's CPU from going into the C3 state. I leave the computer on overnight, but it's mostly idle, so I would appreciate the extra power savings. Note that neither the modem nor the Radeon contribute to that number. It disappears from powertop's output as long as QL is closed. Greetings, -- Javier Kohen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ICQ: blashyrkh #2361802 Jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
