Greetings,

I have just upgraded to Ubuntu Gusty Gibbon, and eagerly have started using
powerTOP to investigate my power use. (Firefox is often the prime
offender, probably
some animations on a web site).

However, although my system has a T7400 mobile CPU, powerTOP says that no
C-state information is available because it's only available on Mobile CPUs.

My system is a homebuilt MoTD (Mobile on the Desktop) with the T7400 CPU,
AOpen i945GTm-VHL micro-ATX motherboard, 2 x 1 GB SODIMM for RAM, an
Nvidia 7300 GS PCIe-16 video card, onboard sound, and 2 2.5" notebook
drives in
software RAID-1 (mdadm).

I don't know enough to speculate on why powerTOP doesn't see my CPU.
When booting, the BIOS reports that the CPU is C1E enabled (I forget the
exact syntax, will check on the next reboot).

Someone who knows more about how powerTOP works may be able to
describe what's going on or make some suggestions ...

Thanks in advance,
Ben
