Thanks -- I find this discussion enlightening. FWIW, when I boot my BIOS says "C1E BIOS Supported". If I follow the discussion, this means that I may be getting C-state transitions but they are invisible to the Linux kernel.
I'm trying to track down disk activity right now. I've implemented several of the Tips, including the hdparm to spin-down, but my desktop seems to generate too much disk activity to either spin-down or to spin-down long enough to be meaningful. A never-ending quest! Best Regards, Ben _______________________________________________ Power mailing list [email protected] http://www.bughost.org/mailman/listinfo/power
