One of the suggestions as per Powertop is: ----- Suggestion: Disable or remove 'gnome-power-manager' from your system. Older versions of gnome-power-manager wake up far more often than needed costing you some power. ----- This has just started out of nowhere for me at least. After a little research I see that this used to happen last year with Powertop and the Gutsy Gnome Power Manager. Has this resurfaced under the radar with a recent update of GPM? I do not remember seeing it before.
