Can you try this build of the X server?

% koji download-build xorg-x11-server-1.5.2-12.fc10
% sudo rpm -Uvh xorg-x11-server-*

There's an incredibly lame bug in the tty driver, where if you put it in
raw mode but then never read from it, eventually the kernel's event
queue fills up and triggers a wakeup storm trying to enqueue the events.
Hilarity ensues. Opening the tty O_WRONLY has no effect, the kernel
kindly queues up input events you will never possibly read just in case
you change your mind.

That build of the X server has a workaround that just tcflush()s the fd
whenever it's got data to read. I've submitted a releng ticket, should
be fixed by F10 gold.
