I also have an Eee PC. Sometime after suspend, my eee pc failed to get
the battery status. Maybe you are have the same problem? Could you
check first if the battery icon on the status bar?

If it's caused by the webcam, maybe you can try disable it in BIOS or
issue the following as root:

echo 0> /proc/acpi/asus/camera

I don't remember see this problem with my Eee PC. It's now not at my
hand so sorry can't test it for you right away.
