Yeah, interesting that the 5300 is probably a lot of folks' '2nd Mac' -
because they're a cheap PPC portable that do most everyday things fairly
well. Hope they're all running SpeedDoubler though. Seriously.
But I always reckon the coolest PBs are the rarest - in this case,
probably the 550c (a black full 040 Blackbird - nice); the 2400 (with G3
or 240MHz 603e (the 240 version also had CardBus built in out of the box
- Japan only); and the Kanga (a comparatively rare bird that has most of
the advantages of an iBook, with the added bonuses of CardBus
upgradeability, serial/LocalTalk, media bay and a 4-speaker stereo
system. If I ever find one for a bargain price, I think I'll buy it for
no apparent reason :-)
I actually like the Duo 2300c a lot too. Excellent display.
