I'm doing the same thing with a 5300.  Idon't know about the SCSI Disk
mode.  I guess I'll have to check it.  It doesn't worry me, I hookup a
CD-ROM to install SW and otherwise use Ethernet for such things.  "It's
better to install software this way as the installer sees the computer it's
installing on and not just a disk drive accessed from a different computer.
