Hi all,
I was lucky enough to find a nice 170 4/40 on eBay last week for just
$26! It arrived Thursday and I'm delighted with it-the keyboard has a
nice touch, the trackball is far more responsive than a trackpad, and
I love the crisp active matrix display. I feel that I got a real
bargain.
I do have two questions though. The previous owner left Global
Village fax software on the computer, and according to the specs I
found at LowEndMac, the 170 should come with an internal modem. At
least I thought it should. But there doesn't seem to be one.
ConfigPPP and ZTerm only "see" the external modem port. Am I wrong
about the internal modem?
Second, MacWrite 5.0 is installed, but whenever I try to load it, it
opens up a blank window and the cursor spins endlessly. System 7.0.1
in installed with the tuneup. Does anyone have any ideas what the
problem could be?
Thanks for any help.
Nancy
