A month or so ago I ordered online from Smalldog, whose computerized check-out procedure automatically inserted UPS shipping at something like $80 (to Italy). I cancelled the order at checkout, then contacted their sales dept. A very friendly and helpful Rob told me I could specifically request DHL shipping at $40 in the "Comments" field on the checkout web page (and he said I could quote him, too). I re-did the order online and got it shipped for $40. The punch line? It was UPS who flew the order across the Atlantic and delivered it to my door! Nice scam: if I hadn't said anything they would have charged me double. Any idea if this is with the online dealer's collusion, or is it all the shipper's fault?
