When I ha my PB1400/400MHz Sonnet G3, I ran OS9.1 on it. It only used about
14-15MB of the available 64MB of RAM.
Plus I felt it ran better and was more stable. However I only ran 8.6 for
about a day after the upgrade so it's not a real good comparison.
I installed OS9.1 so that I could use iTunes, which worked very nicely on
the 1400/G3. Yes I know, one weenie speaker...that's why I hooked up my
Apple design speakers (or headphones). The sound was great! I was also
surprised at how well QuickTime movies ran on it. It was still hindered by
the limits of the video though.
