540c's have the same ethernet as the earlier powermacs (being AAUI) and
just need transceiver (ethernet transceiver) to go in - if you look
around on ebay or 2nd hand places for an AAUI->rj45 transceiver, or some
mix of those words, y'should be right (should be)
