I have a 1400cs/133 OS 8.6 which started several months ago with an
intermittent issue where the contrast on the screen would rapidly "pulsate"
from light to dark. Lately the problem has become more frequent. It never
gets outside the range where the screen image remains visible, but it's
exceedingly annoying.

During these events, which seem to occur randomly and unrelated to any
particular application, the contrast sometimes ends up much lighter or
darker than it was before, but can be corrected with the contrast control.
The contrast remains adjustable during these episodes, and using the control
does not halt the pulsations. The display is otherwise normal.

Any idea what this is, and what to do about it? Screen going bad? Bad
contrast control? Something else entirely?

Brian
