The 4400, and various clones based on the same motherboards (I think just the Motorola StarMax) took 3.3v DIMMS. These, alas, are now just about the most expensive kind of memory out there... The rest of the PCI PowerMacs (5400, 6400, 7x00, 8x00, and 9x00) and various clones based on those Motherboards took 5V DIMMS. Some of these (5500, 6500 and Powerbase models) require 5V EDO dimms.
