Restart the 5300 and while it starts up, hold down the Command, Option, P
and R keys simultaneously. This will abort the startup process after a few
seconds and start over from the beginning. Continue pressing those keys
until the cycle has repeated two or three times. This will reset the
parameter RAM, possibly fixing your problem. You will be able to see if it
worked as soon as the mouse pointer appears and you try to move it. If this
is ineffective, there is probably a bad connection on the logic board. I
wouldn't consider this worth repairing on a 5300.
