Thanks for your quick reply and PRAM suggestion.
Bang on! Yes, the PRAM battery IS bad. I'll get a replacement, then try to
recondition the battery, once again.

usually get it to do the job. When is it crashing on you.
I'm going to guess that the PRAM battery is bad. What I think the Bat Recon
does is not allow the ac adapter to run the PB and when the battery is
discharged, it needs to run on the PRAM battery until it allows the ac
adapter to kick in again.>>
