Open the Duo, and you will see
a video cable, of thin plastic it be
ensure the cable is firmly in place
for a loose cable might be hanging in space
now push the on button, as hard as you might
and with some luck, the LCD will light

OK, Maybe I will keep my day job.

Does it work in a dock ?  A loose video cable from the monitor-> LCD 
might cause the problems you have.  I am assuming you already tried 
the power manager button ?
