Isn't this list great for finding out all the information you need? I did 'flash' upgrade my GV card. It meant that I downloaded some software from the GV site, then ran it, so it altered some settings on the modem card itself to improve the speed from 28.8 to 33.6 (approx). If you do not want to fiddle with the download, or are worried about running the updater, or checking to see that you have the correct software before running the upgrade, then don't do it for a minor speed improvement.
