You can actually go up to 512MB RAM at this point. Anything larger than 256MB in each slot is reported to have problems (in the Wallstreet models).

A standard profile DIMM is 2" high from the bottom of the pins to the tope edge. A low profile DIMM is 1.5" high. Low profile DIMMs are more expensive to produce. They are required for the lower slot due to space limitations. You can actually use low profile in both slots if you want to spend the extra money. > > (2) If yes to (1), is upgrading BOTH the RAM slots something a "normal > person" (as opposed to a Normal Apple Tech person) can do? You just have to proceed with extreme caution and follow directions to the "T". Check out www.datamem.com. The memory is lifetime warranted and is about the best price around. I've purchased memory from them on several occasions and have been very satisfied. Plus overnight shipping is $7. You can find Wallstreet memory for $59 (256MB low profile) and $35 (256MB standard profile). -makmac (just a satisfied customer) -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
