If you do get the 3400, and find a good deal on one with only 16MB RAM, I have a spare 16MB module that is still shrinkwrapped and which I don't need. If you want it, I'd mail it to you for nothing (I'm in Italy). 32MB would be enough for, say, OS 8.1 (very stable), plus Word 5.1a (my favorite MS product of all time) or, say, Nisus 4.1.6 (a great free word processor), plus Eudora Light 3.1.3 (my favorite email program, though I don't know if it's still supported by most servers: anyone?), plus iCab or whatever browser you're happy with (though the latest IE and Navigator might be too RAM-hungr...)
