I'm setting up a 7100/80 with 88 mb of RAM as a backup computer. I downloaded Clarisworks 5.0 and Microsoft Word 6x to it from my Performa 6200. Whenever I start up either program I get an error message or it simply locks up. However, Simple Text Works just fine. Should I scrub those programs and download them from an installation CD or does the hard drive need major surgery? Should I go with an entirely different word processor? I am also mystified by termination needs with the 7100. I have read in several places (mostly on this list) that the 7100 needs termination. I have a HPV card in one slot (PDS?) and it works just fine with my monitor. Is the 7100 "terminated" with the HPV card or do I need to drop something else into another slot? I read a recent post that the PDS slot should never be empty, so did I unwittingly do the right thing? I know this sounds real basic, but termination doesn't always make sense to me.
