Help me before I pull out what little hair I have left!

How are you supposed to print with OS X on your Mac?

Ok, here is the set up, I have a

Personal LW (LW 300/LS) (serial, but not AppleTalk) with a
Keyspan 28x Twin serial adapter. I leave it attached to my
iMac rev E/ OS 10.1 & 9.2.1, but sometimes attach it to my
Pismo/ OS 9.1.

I have tried the suggested way, ie open Classic, open Chooser, and print from
there. But NO GO. When I try to select the printer connected to the iMac
either as a shared or non-shared printer the print will fail. It will print
as a shared printer on another Mac. And there is no way to print from a X
application.

I have tried a work around. I have figured out where the Printer descriptions
(PPDs) are kept and I have dropped the one for my poor Personal LW in. It is
technically not a AppleTalk Printer nor a USB, has any one firgure out a
work-around?

I can select the LW 300/LS in the Print Center as a AppleTalk printer, but it
will not hold the selection. I can not view the selections as the other two
types of pritners

The Serial Adapter works most of the time when booted into OS 9, but not
under Classic or OS 10.1. I am not sure that I have installed the driver
correctly in OS X. I can not open it and set any preferences.

Using Apple System Profile 2.6.3, from 921:

Under Classic there is only USB (bus) 0 no devices

Booted into 9.2.1 there are USB (buses) 0 & 1, & all my devices, adapter,
KB, mouse, UPS, & Zip drive
Below each bus is the designation 1.5.5.

Using ASP 2.7, from 10.1:

Under X there are USB (buses) 0 & 1, & all my devices, adapter, KB, mouse,
UPS, & Zip drive
Below each bus is the designation 1.5.3****

I thank you and my scalp thanks you!
