Definitely download 8.1 if nothing else--it fixed several glitches. For best value photo editing on your machine, I'd grab a copy of Photoshop 4.0 off eBay. Photoshop 4.0 is: -not the memory hog the more recent versions are -has most of their features -is upgradable all the way to the most recent version (6.0, I believe) if you decide you must have the latest issue
