Do you have PC Exchange turned on in the system? If it is turned on it will
recognize that CF card as a PC disk. If not, it will ask you if you want to
reformat it, because it cannot recognize it. that's how you can reformat CF
Cards. 
They are PC format as you buy them. It's like putting in an IBM-formatted
diskette. If you have PC Exchange turned on you can see the diskette as a PC
disk. If not, it will say it is unrecognizable and will ask if you want to
reformat it.
