Hi Ben Thanks for your reply. I have been quoted �300 to get it repaired but most repair outfits I contacted said it wasn't worth doing and tried to flog me a new iMac at �500. I was told I'd need a new screen unit that would take a week to come from the US!
To tell you the truth I am all set to ditch desktops for a secondhand Wallstreet or PDQ...my iMac was brand new when I bought it and its only lasted four years! Thanks for your help.
