Hi everybody -- lurker emerging here! I don't have a PowerBook, but I'm
looking to buy one, one of these days. -- Anyway, to get to the question at
hand:

The version of the QuickTime control panel (3.0.2) on my 8100 has an option
for "QuickTime  Exchange" which enables files from those other platforms to
be recognized, sort of like PC/File Exchange. I don't know what version
you're running, but maybe yours got turned off somehow.

If that isn't it, maybe your desktop needs rebuilding.
