I've also read about that holding the power key on overnight trick. You
either tape it down or carefully place a book there. Unplugging the PRAM on
a 1400 is a chore, since it requires complete disassembly of the case
halves. Resetting the power manager by holding in the button on the back for
about a minute usually works for me when I have similar problems.
I'm interested in the results, since I'm waiting for my 466 to show up. I
returned a 333 that developed a bad L2 cache after six months and the 466 is
all they have available to replace it with.
