Just a thought.. there wasn't a little Farallon Airdock with these two machines, was there? It is a little object that provides infrared to a desktop machine. It is a few inches high and connects to the desktop ADB port. I used the Farallon Airdock to connect a desktop and my powerbook 5300 (and the software with it was for use with system 7.5).
