Others have covered how to attach an external CD-ROM drive so I won't. That will work fine for software install and such. If you want to use a CD-ROM in your regular use of the laptop there is a solution that doesn't include lugging an external drive around. When I got a 5300c I installed a 20Gb drive in it. I use DiskCopy to make a disk image of CD-ROMs on the HD. I can then mount the disk image on the desktop. It appears to the system as another disk but without the need for a physical disk drive and disk. It is also faster than a CD-ROM drive. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting [EMAIL PROTECTED] "I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway" -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
