For ethernet files transfers SCSI is distinctly faster.

For Web browsing both appletalk via serial and SCSI are about the same speed
because the CPU restricts browser speed.

I use both serial and SCSI to browse via my PB165 on a share cable
connection and find no real difference. However, if you are downloading
files, especially FTP then you'll see SCSI will run much faster.

This said I enjoy using the old phonenet serial connection on my PB165
because I can jack into any phone outlet in my house to access my ethernet
networked Macs & shared printer and the internet because I have set up the
second phone line as a localtalk network and have an LCII bridging the
ethernet using Apple's free Localtalk Bridge control panel.
