No, disk burner only works (iirc) 9.1 (and with hacks, with OS 8.6) and above. It's part of the System Software in OS 9. You can download it from Apple, too. If you look it up the HP isn't listed specifically, but that's because HP doesn't make the drives, they package someone elses.
