Here is a link to Alladin's page on problems.

I see that you can get a version mailed to you on diskette if all else
fails. See the end of the text I am quoting below. Here is some of the text
from that page:
Compuserve and America Online
The Macintosh client software for Compuserve and AOL should be able to
decode files coming from their own online libraries. Compuserve users should
go to Compuserve's Mac Library (GO MACCVEN) and search for StuffIt Expander.
AOL users can get Expander directly from AOL's software libraries (KEYWORD:
DOWNLOAD). Search the shareware section for "Aladdin Systems StuffIt
Expander" and you'll get a number of hits.

Check Your Install Disks
Since version 8.5, Apple has included StuffIt Expander as part of the OS
install. If you have an install disk for Mac OS 8.5 or later, perform a
custom installation, select "Internet Access" then select "Customized
Installation..." from the pop-up menu on the right. Select only "Internet
Utilities" from the list.
If you have a software disk from your Internet Service Provider, check to
see if they have included an installer for StuffIt Expander.

Obtain a Physical Copy
You can obtain StuffIt Expander from most Macintosh user groups. You may
also be able to obtain it from a local Macintosh dealer. If you know an
internet-savvy Mac user, see if you can obtain it from him or her. StuffIt
Expander is freeware, so you can share it with friends without being
penalized. We only ask that people distribute the StuffIt Expander Installer
as it includes all the documentation.
If all else fails, you may also email a request for a copy on disk directly
from us for a small shipping and handling fee.
