The 1400 (8.1) has started to fail at warm reboots; cold boots or bootup by
hitting the reset button on the back, work fine- a warm boot via the gives
me a flashing question mark.
On warm boot, I don't hear the internal HD being polled.
It seems like I read about this on the c.s.m.portables newsgroup, but a lot
of searching groups.google.com didn't yield the exact issue. I have
deleted the invisible "shutdown check" file, reselected the internal hard
drive as the "startup disk", zapped the PRAM, and reset the power manager
(although resetting the PRAM is supposed to reset the power manager anyway).
What else to check? It just started doing this...
Thanks,
Brian
