I can tell you a p'd off layed off or fired employee who does know of some pirated software letting the company who the software was taken from can bring lawsuits that can really hurt a company far more than the cost of the employee they let go. And typically it is a foolish idea to think that the users will properly maintain licenses. Getting rid of the IT dept to save money can potentially REALLY hurt.
IMHO Thomas Martin -----Original Message----- From: PowerBooks [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Tracy Keirns Sent: Friday, April 26, 2002 7:34 PM To: PowerBooks Subject: OT: schools and software licence violations I need some help. Anybody know of any sites where I can find information about school districts that have been found to be violating software licences? Our school board is talking about cutting our technology department and I need some information that shows how much it could cost the school if we don't have somebody making sure what is installed.
