I was able to pick up a replacement Ethernet card to replace my
Ethernet/Modem card. (look for garage sale items at OWC and such, I paid
$9, Kanga G3 laptop shares the same cards) I static fried mine. (Still have
somewhere around here...) I could never get faster than 26K out of the
modem and it never would stay connected for more than 1 minute no matter
what I did.

I use a 56K PCMCIA card for the modem and the internal ethernet for my home
LAN.

I would not lose sleep over not finding a Modem/Ethernet combo card.
