Hello all, some of you may remember a while ago I introduced myself to this list as a Mac newbie who was trying to connect a Powerbook 520 to the internet for a pal. Well, whilst looking for the spare parts needed for that one I saw a 520C available on e-bay which included an internal modem. So I decided to purchase it, well I've kept subscribed to this list as there seems to be some very knowledgable people on here. Ok enough creeping ;-) I've started working (at last) on connecting the 'new' Mac to the internet, however I seem to have screwed up the MacTCP settings. I'm now getting the following error message "MacTCP. The control panel "MacTCP" could not be opened, because an error of type -39 occurred". Ok, so I checked few websites and determined that this was some sort of unexpected EndofFile message. However, most sites seem to recommend reinstalling the system software. Well, I'm afraid that my Powerbook didn't come with any system software. So anyone know how I can get hold of some quickly? The Powerbook is running System Software version B1-7.5 So can anyone help? I would be very very grateful. Assuming that I can get hold of this then is it an easy fix to replace whatever I screwed up (bloody silly question, I guess)? Well, I await your pearls of wisdom, with baited breath. Cheers, me dears, DaveM
