Another key to the stylewriters, especially compared to Epson printers, is
that when you change the cartridge (still pretty cheap Canon cartridges, as
John said), you also change the print head (i.e., it's cartridge and print
head all in one). This avoids the common Epson printer problem of clogged
print heads that, in most cases, render the printer useless.

We've still got Stylewriters 1200, 1500 and 2400 going strong (after about 5
years).
