My 5300 is a royal PIA. It had the 700 meg HD originally, but it died and I put a 1 gig from a dead 1400 (not really dead, just missing the screen, anyone got one? if so please email me!0 and put it in the 5300. it worked. well to make a long story short, I got a 3400 and put the 1 gig hd in it. So the 5300 sat there lifeless. That made me feel bad because i retired one of my favorite PB's (odd how you get attached to a computer isn't it?). So I got a dead IBM ThinkPad 750Cs from a friend (this one was/is eally dead, like anyone really cares!). It had a working 160 meg IDE/ATA hd in it. So I put it in the 5300. Started it up, and it just doesn't find the HD. No matter what version macos i boot it up with, it just doesn't see it. I've tried quite a few different hd repair apps, but none see it. I just want to format the damn HD so I can bring the 5300 back to life. I've been trying to get it work for 8 hours. And am really really Pissed! Excuse my bad language I'm winding down from a caffine high and this HD/Laptop is bugging the hell out of me! I'm done cussing now, very sorry for that. Now if anyone has any ideas, please please please help me!!!!!
