Hello all,

Just inherited a 165c in great shape. It has system
7.1 on it and 4 Mb of RAM. I have manuals, but no
original disks.

I'd like to get it hooked up to my home ethernet/DSL
connection with a browser installed if possible, then
download various games, apps, etc. Is it hopeless? I
have experience with PCs and Linux (homemade linux
firewall) but am totally new to Macs.

So many questions I don't know where to begin! Here
are the first few:

1. Seems I should start with a scsi->ethernet adapter,
made by Asante. If I can get one, will that work with
system 7.1 and 4 Mb RAM?

2. What browser, specifically version number, if any
will work best with my configuration?

3. Once I start downloading things, I think I will
need a newer version of Stuffit. I currently have
2.0, but most things require 5.5. But 5.5 requires
System 7.5.3 - which I think is free, right? How do I
do the upgrade? Or would that be a mistake given the
small RAM I have?

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. If
these questions are already covered in an archive,
could someone please point me there? Thanks!

Jabez
