With Toast (3.x, 4.x or Titanium) you will have the best possible support for this drive, both as a CD-ROM and as a CD writer. I'm sure a copy of Toast 3.5 would be easy to find. Then, you can upgrade it to 3.5.1. The RCD 5020 (first-generation, caddy loading) and the RCD 5040 (tray loading) are fully supported for all versions of Toast that I mentioned above.
